Moving to the Sacramento area from far away? Buying a home you cannot easily visit is hard. Leah Albanese makes it doable. She tours homes for you on live video, plans your visits, and keeps you up to date at every step.
Step 1: A consultation by phone or video
You tell Leah why you are moving, when you need to be here, and what you want in a home. If you do not know the area yet, see the Moving to Sacramento page. It explains how the towns differ.
Step 2: Line up your loan
Talk with a lender before you shop. The lender decides what you qualify for. If you must sell a home first, tell the lender. That can change your options.
Step 3: Tour homes, in person or by video
If you can visit, Leah can plan your tours for the days you are in town. If you cannot visit, she can walk through a home on a live video call. Video is helpful, but it does not show everything. It is best to see a home in person before you buy if you can.
Step 4: Offer and inspections
Leah writes the offer with you and explains each part. Most papers can be signed online. After your offer is accepted, a licensed inspector checks the home and sends a written report. Leah goes over the report with you.
Step 5: Closing and move-in
The escrow company tells you how to sign your final papers. Often this can be done where you live now. Ask your escrow officer and lender what they allow.
Timing your move
If you have a job start date or a lease that is ending, tell Leah early. She can help you plan around it. She cannot promise a closing date, since the lender, the seller, and the escrow company all play a part.
